FAQs: Registration and Payment

Q: I am trying to register, but the registration site keeps timing out. What should I do?

A: Firstly, thank you for taking the time to fill out the registration form! We are very sorry that you have encountered the time out message. It must be frustrating! Please note that registration and payment occurs through the online store of the University of Sheffield, and therefore we have limited control over the process, but we still very much want you here! Our suggestion would be to have pre-written responses to the questions of:

  • “Briefly note (1-2 paragraphs) your personal motivation for attending this conference.”
  • Any specific reasons why you may want a delegate role, or to represent a specific Member State or organisation (you can list up to 3 choices in each category)

Once you are in the system, copying and pasting these responses should save you some time. If you experience problems despite this, please email us at sheffwho@sheffield.ac.uk, and we will do our best to help you. Thanks in advance for your perseverance!

Q: Just to help me decide in advance, what roles are available within each category?

A: Here are the roles that were available when we opened our registration. You can probably understand that we’ve received quite a few sign-ups since then, and some of them have already been allocated to your fellow delegates and therefore are no longer available:

  • Member States: 82 countries are available, so we will not list them all here. Basically, name some countries and we will see if we can assign them to you!
  • Pharma: GSK, Merck, Novartis, Pfizer, Roche, Sanofi
  • Media: Al Jazeera, BBC, CCTV, CNN, Fox News
  • NGOs: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, CARE, MSF, Oxfam, Red Cross, UNICEF, Wellcome Trust
Q: So I can choose which delegate role I am assigned?

A: You can definitely select your preferred delegate role, and we will see if we are able to assign this to you. You can even submit a request to be a particular country or organisation. If you have a burning reason why you would like to be assigned to a particular role, please be sure to let us know! Obviously, the availability of your preferred role will depend on whether it has already been assigned to another delegate. We are assigning roles on a first-come first-served basis. We are also running the event with a reduced number of countries, in order to ensure a balance of delegates between the different WHO Regions. Therefore, some countries may not be available for assignment.

Q: I am having trouble with my credit card on the payment site. Please help!

A: We apologise for this inconvenience, and we understand that it is frustrating! Please note that registration and payment occurs through the online store of the University of Sheffield, and therefore we have limited control over the process. Please email us as soon as possible, at sheffwho@sheffield.ac.uk. We will do our best to help you to arrange an alternative method of payment.

Q: What do I get for my registration fee?

A: You can get a whole range of goodies by signing up and attending SheffWHO! The perks will soon be posted.

Q: If I am unable to make it, and I only realise near the time, am I able to sell on my ticket?

A: Tickets are non-refundable from our end, but if you find someone wants to take your role and position, you can certainly transfer that information, as long as you notify the Organising Committee. We need to make sure we are meeting this person’s dietary and access needs!
